Cancellation Policy - We are happy to honor requests for refunds or issue gift certificates in the amount of class registration as long as the request is made more than seven (7) calendar days prior to the class date.  We encourage you to find a substitute should you discover that you are unable to attend within the seven (7) days prior to class.  Please understand that we cannot make exceptions.  We have a minimum number of students required in order for a class to occur.  We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, in which a full refund will be given.  

Bad Weather Policy - We will make a determination no later than 2 hours prior to a class and will make every attempt to notify you by phone at the phone number you provide us upon registration and/or email.  If we are not able to speak with you in person, we will leave a message.  We encourage you to call us if in doubt. Unless you hear from us the class will be held.

We all need help – of course, we do! In this class, you will learn how to use several “silent assistants” to help you bake perfect, yeasty, homemade breads every time. Classic Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Rolls – What??? How can those be easy? You will see. Cheddar Chive Bread, great for breakfast toast and sandwiches, using an electronic assistant. You have heard about the latest cooking technique, but what does it mean to “Sous Vide”.  Simple – Sous Vide means “Under Vacuum”.  We will explore the many ways to utilize this popular, and actually, very simple style of preparing some of your favorite foods with awesome results.  We will start off with an appetizer of salmon on crostini with horseradish crème.  Next, we HAVE to show you how to make Crispy Pork Belly garnish for a yummy green salad.  For the main course, we will sear to finish sous vide KC Strip Steaks (restaurant quality) and, will accompany the steak with some sous vide vegetables.  For dessert, we will enjoy chocolate pots de crème, that, yes, are cooked in jars under water!  We will provide different resource listings to help get you started on your path to enjoying this simple new cooking style.

In this class, Chef Matt will teach you the fundamentals of knife skills, from how to properly hold a knife and executing classic cuts, to sharpening, cleaning and care of your knives.  You will want to bring you Chef Knife (Yes, the Big one in the knife block) as you practice a variety of cuts in class with vegetables under Chef Matt’s direction.  We will take some breaks throughout class to enjoy some dinner and ask questions.  This class will really help you improve your ability to prepare food much quicker at home.  Don’t forget your Chef Knife!  This might be a good time to get those blades sharpened!  (Check out Ambrosi Bros. Come and spend a week touring the world through food with National ProStart Culinary Educator of the Year in 2017 Chef Mike Chrostowski.  This interactive hands-on cooking class for youth will provide an opportunity for them to learn about the different spices and ingredients that cultures around the world use while making and tasting throughout the day. The students will spend a day in Italy making pasta from scratch.  Spend a day cooking delicious Asian Food. A trip to the farmer’s market where they will learn about farm to table aspect of cooking and a dessert driven day washing it all down with malts and shakes. This proves to be a fun and exciting week of learning and creating new and delicious dishes.

Kid’s International Summer Cooking Camp

Join Chef Sophia Chatfield for this 3 day class and learn how to cook with an international flair.  This will be a cooking class for those young future-to-be chefs who want to learn about cooking cuisines from different countries.  First day will be a trip to Italy where you will learn how to make garlic bread, spaghetti and meatballs with marinara source, Fettuccini Alfredo and some fresh baked cookies.  On day 2, let’s travel to the Far East.  In this class you will make sushi and spring rolls, followed by Lo Mein Noodles, Teriyaki Skewers and Bubble Tea.  And, finally, on Day 3 it’s off to Mexico starting with some tasty salsa and queso with tortilla chips.  Then you will enjoy Chicken and Cheese quesadilla and a Taco Salad with beef.  And the day would not be complete without Sopapillas for dessert.
